In April 2009 I was involved in a slip and fall accident at my daughter’s apartment complex. I was walking into the parking garage and I fell onto the cement floor, fracturing my hip.

After the fall, I was unable to get up or move until the paramedics arrived to help. I was transported to the emergency room and was admitted for five days. I underwent hip replacement surgery. I spent six weeks in a skilled nursing facility recovering from my injuries.

In 2008 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving on I-5. A vehicle swerved into my lane, striking me on the left passenger door. The force of the impact caused me to strike my left shoulder against the driver’s side door. I underwent an arthroscopic surgery to repair torn ligaments in my rotator cuff.
